This Saturday 25th September sees the commencement of the Great River Race! It's been a hectic and busy few days at the Destination Richmond office, collecting last minute payments, ensuring the accommodation arrangements are all in order and that everyone who has booked has a voucher depending on the services they indicated.
We have dealt with entrants coming from as far afield as the Shetlands, and across the waves from Sardinia - no doubt, there are bound to be many more entrants from UK shores and beyond. The variety of competitors is the highlight of the Race, as while being international it is also open to casual and serious competitors - I hear there's a rumour of a challenge from the ITN News Group to the BBC News Group?
Aside from the Race, which commences upstream from London to Richmond this year, the post-Race celebrations are something else to look forward to. With activities for children, entertainment, live music and stalls to keep one busy and entertained through the evening.
