Sports enthusiasts with disabilities and budding coaches are being invited to attend a "sports and exercise day" at St Mary's College on Saturday 3rd October 2009.

The day, arranged by Richmond Council, is designed to get people involved in a range of activities, including trampolining, dance, and wheelchair basketball.

There will also be a Sports Coach UK workshop, open to coaches of any experience and ability who want to work within sports with disabilities.

The classes are part of the Council’s Richmond upon Thames Inclusive Sport and Exercise (RISE) scheme. They coincide with ‘Get Moving Week’, an initiative from mental health charity MIND, running from the 3-11 October which aims to challenge stigma and discrimination and promote the benefits of being active for mental wellbeing.

The activities session is free and runs from 10am-3pm. The Sports Coach UK workshop runs from 10.30am-12.30pm and costs £15 per person.
