Richmond upon Thames College (RuTC) is delighted to announce that it has been awarded status as a prestigious Microsoft Showcase College.

The Microsoft Showcase College programme is part of Microsoft’s Education Initiative – a global network of institutions using technology to improve teaching and learning.

Showcase colleges are supported by Microsoft to focus on personalised learning for students through the use of one-to-one devices and Office 365 Education, Teams, OneNote, Skype and more. They also share ideas and are given the opportunity to host education events.

Robin Ghurbhurun, Principal and Chief Executive of Richmond upon Thames College, said, “I am delighted Richmond upon Thames College has been designated a Microsoft Showcase College. Our commitment to innovation in technology for learning and business will be enhanced by this partnership with Microsoft and its family of other pioneering institutions across the globe. Membership of the group will undoubtedly match our 2020+ journey for learning and skills, creating a smart campus for our students and staff”.

He added, “Becoming a Microsoft Showcase College is a great honour for the college and an exciting and important step for Richmond upon Thames College’s future. We are currently building a brand new college on our current Twickenham site which will open its doors at the beginning of 2020 and will become a first class further education college and a technical and professional hub for west London providing the latest technology for students and staff along with state-of-the-art facilities”.

Richmond upon Thames College (RuTC) is a General Further Education College situated on a single site in Egerton Road, Twickenham and was established as the first tertiary college in the South East of England in 1977. Today the college has approximately 2,000 full-time students aged 16-18 years old and offers these students a wide range of courses and subjects. It also offers a range of adult courses, many leading to professional qualifications and a number of higher education courses.
