Living in our beautiful borough it’s easy to enjoy a great day out without breaking the bank. Pack a picnic, take a stroll or hop on a bike or boat, and soak up the rich history, royal parks, cosmopolitan riverside and striking landscapes.

Here’s a taster of how to spend a lazy weekend or two!

Boat trips

Turk Launches boat trips run daily between Richmond, Kingston and Hampton Court Palace. Put your feet up, sip a chilled beer and just take in the stunning views. Kids love it, perfect for tired legs!

Cycling & bike hire

Take a leisurely ride along the towpaths or pick up the pace around the royal Richmond and Bushy Parks. Moore’s Cycles do same day bike repairs and cycle hire.

Rowing boat hire

Have fun on the water and hire a rowing boat from Richmond Bridge Boat Houses, affordably priced by the hour or day. Stop off on the grassy banks for a picnic, or visit one of Richmond's historic houses.

Explore the market

Browse the Duck Pond Market held in Heron Square each Sunday, abuzz with mouth-watering street food, art, jewellery and crafts. Great for celeb spotting too!

A bite to eat

Delicious lunches and afternoon teas are served at the Bingham overlooking the river. Or pick up an artisan picnic from Cook & Garcia opposite Richmond Station or Alberts Deli off the Sheen Road. Sorted!
