Richmond will remember military personnel lost in combat since the First World War with pride on Sunday 8th November.

There are a number of services and ceremonies taking place throughout the borough of Richmond this Remembrance Day, detailed below care of Richmond Council press releases. If there are any we've missed please let us know by emailing richmond@thebestof.co.uk.

 

 


In Richmond, a service will be held at the War Memorial in Whittaker Avenue, at 10.45am A parade will march from Old Deer Park at 10.30am and will proceed to the memorial and a wreath will be laid at 11am. The Mayor, Cllr Celia Hodges, will take the salute from the steps of Richmond Theatre with Council Leader Cllr Serge Lourie.

In Twickenham, the Deputy Mayor, Cllr Ben Khosa, will take the salute at the march-past of local organisations at a service in Radnor Gardens. A representative of the Royal British Legion will escort the parade to the War Memorial for the service at 10.50am

There will be a Remembrance Day Service at the Methodist Church, in Percy Road, Hampton starting at 10.30am on Sunday, 8 November.  The parade will assemble at midday in front of the Church, ready to march off precisely at 12.15pm for the annual wreath-laying ceremony at 12.30pm in front of the Hampton War Memorial Cottages in Oldfield Road, opposite Gander Green.  Richmond Council will be represented by Cllr Carol Stratton.

A parade of organisations will assemble at Sheen Lane Centre Car Park at 10.30am and will march to East Sheen War Memorial where a service will be held at 11am.  The Council will be represented by Cllr Nicholas True.

In Barnes, there will be a service at St Mary’s Church, following an act of remembrance in the churchyard at 10.50am.  The Council will be represented by Cllr Rita Palmer.

There will be a Parish Communion at 9.30am at St Andrew’s Church, Ham Common, with an Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial in the church yard, from at 10.45am.  The Council will be represented by Cllr Brian Miller.
There will also be a service at St Peter’s Church, Petersham.  This will start at 10am, followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at 11am.  The Council will be represented by Sir David Williams.

A Service will be held at St Stephen’s Church, Richmond Road, East Twickenham at 9.15am, followed by a wreath-laying ceremony.  The Council will be represented by Cllr Michael Wilson.

There will be a service at Teddington War Memorial in Hampton Road, at 10.50am. The Council will be represented by Cllr Stephen Knight.

Hampton Wick residents can watch a service which will be held at the War Memorial at Kingston Bridge at 10.50am. The Council will be represented by Cllr Pat Parsons.

St James Church, Hampton Hill will host a service at 9.45am followed at 10.55am by a Parade to the war memorial in the church yard for the Act of Remembrance.  The Council will be represented by Cllr Jonathan Cardy.
