Senior drivers in Richmond upon Thames can now refresh their road skills with a free driving advice course on Tuesday, 20 March at Hampton Wick Cricket Club in Bushy Park.

The course, an initiative organised in partnership with Richmond and Kingston Council’s Safety Education Teams, has been put together as part of National Older Drivers Week. It is a classroom based course which will act as a refresher for mature drivers, covering growing trends in driving and main causes of accidents, changes to the Highway Code and simple steps to help keep you safe whilst driving around the borough.

Cllr Nicola Urquhart, Cabinet Member for Adults Services, Health and Housing said: “Although the rules of the road generally stay the same, it is very useful to refresh our minds when it comes to driving and keeping safe on the roads.

“This Course will provide really useful information and advice for older drivers and is also a great example of partnership working across the boroughs.”

To book a place on the course, which will run from 9.45-12 noon, please contact Richmond’s Safety Education Team on 020 8487 5131 or email safety-education@richmond.gov.uk
