Is anxiety controlling your life?

Anxiety is a necessary part of our lives. But when life throws up unexpected challenges, anxious thoughts and worry can soon start to take over and our day-to-day life becomes affected. Feeling tense, overwhelmed and unable to sleep are common symptoms.

Trying to distract ourselves or talk things through with friends or family may help. But it’s what to do next when those anxious feelings just keep resurfacing – and at worse are getting stronger.

”At this point,” explains David, “what is often needed is the undivided and impartial attention of someone who will really listen to what you have to say. Friends and family can have the best of intentions, but it’s about being listened to in a different way. Often what you think is the problem may not be the actual case.

"I practice Psychotherapy and Hypnotherapy. Both are unique in how they can help to unravel negative patterns of thought.

It’s then about finding the right techniques to interrupt these patterns and create new ways to control your anxiety."

3 signs anxiety is controlling you

1. Inability to concentrate
2. Queasy, jittery feelings
3. Muscle tension

Where do I start?

David's practice on Richmond Green offers escapism. An initial consultation will outline the best way forward and reassure you.

How soon will I feel better?

Everyone is different, so it takes as long as it takes. However, positive and lasting change can occur within as little as 4-6 sessions.
