Working alongside British Cycling, the council are looking for confident, enthusiastic and chatty people who love cycling, to inspire others to cycle and share in the experience.

A one-day course, assessed by British Cycling, will enable people to lead rides featuring groups of beginners and intermediate level adults and accompanied children, sharing tips and advice on all practical aspects of a ride.

Speaking recently, Councillor Katharine Harborne, Richmond Council’s Cycling Champion, said: “This is an excellent course and aimed at finding and training people who can inspire people to take up and continue cycling. Cycling makes you fitter and improves the environment by taking vehicles of the Borough’s roads. I would highly recommend this excellent course.”

For information about the course and Sky Ride 2013 see the Richmond Council website.
