In less than a month, the famous giant chess set located in Church Street, Twickenham, will be uprooted and repositioned for just one day at the Richmond Business Expo, taking place at Twickenham Stadium on Tuesday 12th April.

The Expo is a showcase for some of the best businesses in and around the Richmond Borough and it’s an opportunity for local residents to get a flavour of all the abundance of services, products and entertainments right on their doorstep. Of course they can also pick up some excellent offers, discounts and freebies on the day too!

The giant chess set, with its two feet high chess pieces and 2.5meter square board, has become somewhat of a Twickenham icon in recent years and is popular with visitors young and old. It is owned and maintained by Crusader Travel, whose director is Bruce Lyons who is also the chairman of the Church Street Association.

Bruce commented: “We’re inviting people to come along to the Church Street Traders stand at the Expo, where we’ll be replicating our wonderful street as much as possible with an artist’s impression back drop, large planters, tables and chairs for ‘al fresco dining’ and even some cobbles, hopefully!”

Other exhibitors at the Expo include Indus Indian Restaurant, Parker Car Service, Turk Launches, The Victoria Foundation and Heavenly Dish independent caterers plus many many more.
