The Stepping on Out charity is run by Adults with learning difficulties, producing hand made greeting cards which are then sold at various venues throughout the Richmond upon Thames borough.

The Stepping on Out charity, which began life in September 2004 at Richmond Community College, has an aim to provide adults with learning disabilities gain independence in the community through business and work experience.

It remains non-profit, designing, producing hand made greetings cards, sold at various venues throughout the Borough of Richmond upon Thames which are available to order through their website.

Though the crux of the business continues to be the design, production and sale of greetings cards and other decorative products for the local community, from September 2007 it is hoped that the college will provide several short courses specifically planned to help those in need learn the skills needed to run our particular business, such as basic Microsoft Publisher, Textile Design and Health and Safety in the Workplace.

In January 2008 Stepping on Out moved from Teddington Baptist Church to larger premises in Hampton Road, Twickenham to provide employment for a greater number of people with learning disabilities who will help us with production as well as simple administration tasks. These new premises were officially opened by the Mayor of Richmond on 30 January 2008.
