f you want to take part in this year’s Redditch Relay For Life you need to sign up quickly. The event, raising cash for Cancer Research UK, currently has 28 teams registered and 71 survivors set to attend. Registered teams have been holding various fundraising events throughout the year and have already raised more than £20,000.
The event takes place at SE Davis in Edgioake Lane on June 5 and opens with a lap of honour by the VIP guests followed by teams beginning the 24 hour relay.
While team members walk, events will be taking place around the track such as live bands, dancing, themed laps, entertainment and children's games.
Last year the event raised more than £120,000 which went toward improving the understanding of cancer and developing better ways to prevent, diagnose and treat the disease.
