The Conservatives in Redditch snatched the Parliamentary seat from ex-Home Secretary Jacqui Smith on Thursday 6th May 2010.
The Conservative candidate Karen Lumley took the seat by 5,821 votes (Karen Lumley 19,138, Jacqui Smith 13,317), overturning a Labour majority of 2,716 at the last general election in 2005.
63.8 per cent of the electorate voted.
