Two local singers are this year taking part in the London Marathon.  The good cause they will be running for is  children’s charity MACS (Micro and Anophthalmic Children's Society).  Brett Elesmore and Sophie Grogan both from Redditch have combined forces to raise money and awareness for the children’s charity.

The charity was created to provide support for children and their families who are born without eyes or with underdeveloped eyes.

“The support so far from our family and friends has been brilliant,” said Ms Grogan who will be performing in the closing ceremony for the 2012 Olympic Games.

“We’re hoping that with everyone’s help we can push the total well past our fundraising targets.”

Not only running the marathon, Brett and Sophie are also producing and performing in I Dreamed A Dream at Redditch Palace Theatre.

Ms Grogan added: “We’re both really excited about the challenges ahead.

“The effort going into rehearsals and training is taking up a lot of our time, but it’s for a great cause which makes it all worthwhile.”

The show is on March 18 with tickets costing £10 available from the theatre box office on 01527 65203 or redditchpalacetheatre.co.uk.  Book your tickets NOW and show your support!
