I’d like to thank Georgia for her professionalism and welcoming attitude as I walked into this hotel. I didn’t feel the same as I walked out over 4 years ago, when I would have say this hotel was very poor and not a hotel I would have wanted to return to. Georgia made the reception smile recognising my loyalty membership and making sure that after my last disastrous stay that I was happy with my room, telling me that the hotel had had a major transforming refurbishment.

Well she didn’t lie the rooms are now very welcoming and clean and tidy and I had one of the best nights sleep in a hotel for ages! The food offer is standard Holiday Inn menu but the chefs excellent cooking stood out! Bini served me (still think it’s a blokes name :-) ) the meal experience was a delight and she ensured that the professional approach to the customer carried on, great service!

Thank you Holiday Inn Preston for making my trip to rainy Preston a trip full of sunshine! I look forward to coming back soon!

We had a great stay in a warm and welcoming environment! The rooms were spotless and the air conditioning was very welcome! The staff were exceptional - nothing was too much for them! We couldn’t recommend this hotel more highly and can’t wait to return!

I stayed here for one night for work purposes. The check in staff were great and efficient. There is a 'mini gym' which is laughable but at least they have something. The room I was given was a twin the beds were comfortable and the room was clean. It had an iron and ironing board and hairdryer which was good.
We had breakfast this was atrocious, really bad coffee and poor selection of buffet food which wasn't cooked that well. I'd suggest getting breakfast in town as the hotel is located right by the city centre. Overall I enjoyed my stay here and wouldn't hesitate staying here again if in the area.

We stayed here to attend a wedding reception in the locality and were delighted with the comfortable, well appointed room. The welcome from Georgia was lovely; she recognised our loyalty membership, and our logged preference for a room on a high floor and away from lifts was accommodated. The other lady on Reception was happy to book a taxi for us when we were ready to leave for the party. Our room was clean and modern with nice touches like the USB ports built into plug sockets, and working air con. The bed was really comfortable and I had a great night’s sleep!
Breakfast was everything we wanted too; a wide selection of cooked and continental goodies to start the day.
What really stood out throughout our stay was the cheerfulness and helpfulness of the staff. Every single one was a credit to the company. We will almost certainly be back.

This hotel is a comfortable 15 minute walk from the station, although you may wish to take a taxi at night as the roads between the Town Hall and hotel are quite deserted. The staff on check in were friendly and helpful, not least as I arrived at the same time as a coachload of Dutch students.

I have stayed here many times before and was pleasantly surprised by the face lift. A rather plain 1960s building has been transformed. The public areas are attractive, airy and comfortable. I had a nice drink in the bar, where again the staff were friendly - although the friendliest staff member is the head waitress who supervised breakfast, always with a ready smile.

My bedroom was small but perfectly formed and, again, had had a lovely make over. The desk chair and the easy chair are two of the most comfortable I have ever sat in, as was the bed to sleep in. There is an iron and board, tea and coffee making facilities, a safe. I would have liked a chain on the door, merely for peace of mind, and clearly there used to be as part of it was left. The bathroom was also well-appointed.

Breakfast was good, with all the dishes in the buffet freshly prepared.

This was the first time i have been to Preston, and stayed at the Holiday Inn,after a pretty stressful journey due to traffic congestion, and missing the entrance to the hotel, when i finally made it, and checked in by Jenny who was so bubbly and cheerful, after i explained my journey, the room was very clean, and the bed very comfy, i decided i wanted to see the towns didnt know how to get thereby went to the bar and asked Sean, who is a very polite team member, and very informative, after i asked him how to get to the town, he showed me directions, and also again later in the evening when i asked if he could recommend a good indian restaurant, he did ,and the meal was fantastic, the lad never stopped working he was also on breakfast duty, and always helping people i noticed, what a credit to the holiday inn team.I only stayed one night but enjoyed my stay, at this really wonderful hotel, not forgetting Georgina on check out who was also very friendly and bubbly, they have excellent members of staff, who are there if you need anything. Thank you for a great stay.

As we have mobility difficulties, the efficient receptionist kindly gave us a vacant disabled room which was huge and of course with all the handrails, lowered sinks etc for people more disabled than ourselves.

Staff were friendly and helpful. From other comments, the hotel has had a facelift, but its still pretty soul-less - you could be anywhere in the world.

We dined in on the Friday night, but due to one of the many coach parties taking up the dining room, we had to eat in the bar - not something we like to do amongst all the drinkers. The food itself was typical chain corporate food - designed by accountants. Tastless and portions far too large - other establishments are now starting to offer two sizes of main course, for those of us with smaller appetites and a hate of so much uneaten food going into the bin. Large portions do not make up for rubbish food. We were at a formal dinner locally on the Saturday night, so did not eat in.

The two breakfasts were another example of cheap ingredients - I usually like black sausage, but this was inedible.

I wouldn't visit this hotel again (I am a Platinum elite member of IHG) The car park was nothing short of total chaos. Reception is on the first floor that you have access via a lobby so in the lift (wait, wait, wait) off at 1st floor, check in, back to the lift (wait, wait, wait) off at floor 6 (members floor) which is crazy as we had to wait the longest for the lift each time? arrival at hotel to room time was over 40 mins and we were the only guests checking in!

The room was tiny, my wife and I had to literally squeeze past each to move around the room. Our window would only slide open around 4 inches (100 mm) due to (according to the manager) Health and safety??? never heard of this legislation? In reality it was because the window style is so outdated that they are protecting themselves due to insurance, but we have the discomfort. I appreciate that there was a small a/c unit, but we do not like to use these for differing reasons, so the room was too hot. In fairness the manager he did provide a fan of sorts which helped a little.

Staff were very friendly and the breakfast was a good standard, however, the whole relaxation in the room experience and car park rated 0 stars, the 3 star rating was for the staff

Better and more comfortable hotels in the area...avoid this one
