With festival season officially under way, a care home in Wisbech is welcoming the community for a fun-filled evening of food and celebration.

On Thursday 6th August from 5pm, Care UK’s Barton Manor will open its doors to families and neighbours for a food festival, inviting guests to tuck in and celebrate the nation’s shared love of great cuisine, community and connection.

Visitors to the Barton Road home can look forward to a variety of foods from around the world, including Italian, Chinese and Indian cuisine, specially prepared by the home’s Head Chef.  

Resident Eileen Southwood said: “I’m really looking forward to the event as they’re three cuisines that I’ve always really enjoyed!”

The event is part of the ‘A Taste of Home’ initiative, which will see Care UK homes across the country host foodie-themed celebrations and showcase what life in a care home is really like.

Each festival will showcase sustainable, community-focused initiatives while celebrating the diversity and creativity within the homes, from residents’ favourite recipes and traditional dishes to seasonal menus featuring locally sourced ingredients.
