Clerkenhill Pembrokeshire Siblings Group Charity Awareness and Fundraising Evening.
3rd September 2014

Despite the inclement weather, there was a tidy turnout to enjoy the hospitality, fun and games at Clerkenhill Adventure Farm. Events, moved indoors to continue undaunted. A measure of the commitment to, and appreciation for, this LOCAL charity.

Links with Heather, at Clerkenhill, brought awareness, of the Pembrokeshire Siblings Group charity, which is not funded and relies on donations and voluntary workers as staff.

Set up by 5 sets of involved parents, 17 years of little by little, steady expansion, to fill the growing demand, now sees them supporting some 130 siblings. PSG receive referrals from: schools , councils, doctors, social workers, action for children, hospitals and sees the needs of families, with seriously ill children, growing all the time.

The enthusiasm, for the event, was tangible throughout the evening as young and others got into the spirit, with tunnel racing, bouncy castle, treasure hunt, tombola, rollerball. Shove ha'penny took on a new life, as people vied to win the bottle of scotch, with the shove of a pound coin.

Clerkenhill have enjoyed a tidy summer for visitors. Who delight in the unusual sport of Frisbee golf, Bouncy Castle and wide open spaces, along with a range of indoor activities to keep everyone amused.

A Special day was arranged, for 30 siblings to enjoy a day out at the Clerkenhill facility, in recognition of the sacrifices they make on a daily basis.

Allowing them the freedom to let their hair down, after all the loving care and attention they contribute to their siblings, who are coping with very trying and stressful circumstances.

What would be really nice, is if we could persuade some other local venues, to open their doors to the odd event, with entry free of charge to the charity. It would mean so much and cost nothing.

Skydive taking place at Swansea on 13th Sept to raise funds.

Taking part will be; mother Dawn Lewis, and daughters Heather and Poppy.

If you would like to contribute to this worthy charity call at contacts below.

Another way to help, is to pass it on. Let others know about this local deserving charity.
