Durufle's is considered to be one of the most serene and luminous setting of the Requiem. Often compared to Faure's Requiem, it is gentle, prayerful and focused on hope. The choir will sing with Organ accompaniment . William Petter's Vigil Mass is a contemporary choral Mass composed for Chorus, Cello and Organ. It features the plainsong Missa de Angelis alongside a richly varied and imaginative organ texture. The Cello adds a poignant expressive layer and the Organ enriches the harmonic and textural framework. Overall the work has textural richness and an expressive range.
