The University of the Third Age (U3A) was established in Britain in 1982 and there are now over 500 local U3As, each being affiliated to The Third Age Trust.

OSWESTRY U3A meets every Tuesday morning in the Memorial Hall, Oswestry between 10 a.m. and 12 noon and its Programme Secretary books a varied programme of speakers.  More info: http://oswestryu3a.thisistap.com/

OSWESTRY BORDERS U3A meet on the first and third Wednesday of each month at The Centre in Oak Street Oswestry.  In October, they will be changing our meeting venue to nearby premises, owned by Oswestry Senior Citizens Club in Lorne Street. We start at 1.45 for 2 p.m. We have a talk from a visiting speaker on the first Wednesday, and different activities for the Members’ meeting on the third Wednesday.  More info: https://oswestrybordersu3a.wordpress.com/

Additionally, there are over 40 special interest groups aimed at stimulating mental, physical and social activities and embracing a wide variety of subjects, skills and crafts. Any older person who is not in full-time employment is eligible to join .
