Shake it loose and let it fall.

With Christmas over and the last of the festive twiglets snarfed,  we can safely concentrate on achieving our New Year Resolutions, which for many is either to get fit, or lose weight, ready for the summer.

If you are looking for a detox or a vitality boost, go and visit The Herbarium, where they have a range of vitamin and health products to give you that winter pep.

Joining a gym does help you hit your target, as for  a start you are in the dry, you can use the gym to suit your personal timetable and get one to one training with fitness specialists.  The Wynnstay Hotel and The Lion Quays both have super state-of-the-art fitness suites, as well as more sybaritic attractions such as the spas and pools.

The Venue has a full fitness suite, together with qualified staff to help you with exercise and dietary plans.  They also have a host of evening fitness classes, such as Pilates and Yoga.   Membership starts from £15.00 and as a special New Year Incentive, if you join in January, membership and initial Gym Induction is £10.00, rather than the standard £25.00.

If you have the time and energy, a brilliant way to get fit, eat well and learn about vegetable and fruit growing, is to become a volunteer at the Garth Hillside Organic  Garden.

Another way to combine volunteering and keeping fit is to become a dog walking volunteer for The Cinnamon Trust, a charity that helps elderly people keep their pets with them, and healthy.  Or, for the more adventurous – how about working with the Search and Rescue Dogs?

So, plenty of ways to get fit and healthy and have fun in 2013.
