The Border Visual Arts Festival 2015 is flinging open the world of contemporary art in the coming weeks as it once again gives a stunning demonstration of the breadth, talent and number of artists based in the area.
Qube Gallery’s eagerly anticipated exhibition, ‘Louis Wain: The Man Who Drew Cats’ opens on 6th May. This exciting touring exhibition on loan from Bethlem Museum of the Mind tells the fascinating story of Louis Wain (1860 – 1939), an internationally acclaimed artist, through a selection of his original drawings and paintings.
Wilfred Owen, for many, the true poet of the Great War, is to have his life and work celebrated in his home town of Oswestry in Shropshire. The work, of national significance, aims to bring awareness and remembrance of his life and poetry to a wider audience and future generations, whilst providing an important focal point for reflection, in the place where his deepest imagination was formed.
