Hi, and welcome to thebestofOrmskirk Blog.
My name is Paul Blundell, and I recently took over the ownership of thebestofOrmskirk.
I'm introducing this blog to the site so that we've got somewhere to post about all the things that local people need to know about what's going on in our communities, which is actually quite a list - Ormskirk, Aughton, Town Green, Bickerstaffe, Halsall, Haskayne, Scarisbrick, Burscough, Rufford, Mawdesley, Westhead, and 2 Lathoms (hope I've not left anyone out).
So, this is the chance for local people, organisations and businesses to have their say about what's going on - preferably the good stuff, but I guess it's what matters to people that counts.
The blog will be open to all who have something worth sharing - I'm happy to keep the content flowing, but it'll be a lot better if others join in. And if anyone fancies being a regular contributor, just let me know and I'll set you up as one of our blog authors.
As to content, as long as it's got a local theme it's more or less anything goes (within the bounds of reason and decency), but the obvious subjects are:
Try to avoid obvious advertising, but if you've got something to say about a business or event, then don't be shy. And, don't forget, just click on the "Recommend a Business" tab at the top of the page if you've got something good to say about a great local business; and if you want to shout about an event you are running, then go to the "Events" tab and get the word out there.
