Founded in the 1970s, this organisation of textile artists was originally called the Leicestershire Embroidery Workshop. This exhibition features original textile and textile related work reflecting a wide range of individual interests, influences and enthusiasms by its members. Demonstrating the versatility of textiles as a medium, the display includes a variety of work using traditional techniques and materials. Also on show are sketchbooks and samplers explaining the processes involved.
The Museum & Art Gallery runs a FREE Saturday Event Day each month (except January). The fun activities run from 11.00am until 4.00pm. Meet a character from history, listen to a story or work with an artist. These special days promise a lot of fun for everyone! No need to book - just drop-in and take part. Children must be accompanied by an adult. At busy times you may be asked to wait.

Good Folk - Bad Folk! After the huge success of Isla & Patrick last show at BVC we had to get them back for another performance, this time taking the audience down memory lane with an evening of songs about heroes and villains. Singer Isla St Clair and Film-maker Patrick King will be recalling on-screen goodies and baddies of the past with live folk music and a selection of classic film clips, Isla St Clair is known for her numerous television appearances.
