A look at the world of work through paintings, photographs and objects from Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery’s collections. You’ll discover that residents of the Nuneaton and Bedworth area have earned their living in lots of different ways throughout the centuries. A specially commissioned film will feature six local people talking about their unique experiences of working in the Borough. Do you know what a comptometer does?! Sarah Moncrieff’s work is inspired by the urban spaces and environments that we sometimes fail to notice. In her paintings she presents these areas in a dramatic and visually appealing way to encourage us to see our surroundings in a new light. Factory interiors and shopping precincts, cement works and boarded-up housing are subjects which she paints in a positive way, worthy of our attention.
