New 'simplified' on-street parking charges start today in Nottingham

City parking charges have been the topic of a number of conversations I have had with business owners over the past year or so. Quite a lot of frustration has been felt by the business owners based on the confusing pricing structure and the actual cost to park on the street near their businesses, especially in the evenings. The good news is that as of today on-street parking is now simple to understand which should definitely attract more shoppers.

£1 to park anywhere in the city centre, but how much time drivers get will depend on the actual location. Maximum stay times for on-street parking have also been removed.

Between 8am and 6pm Monday to Saturday, £1 will allow someone to park for 30 minutes in zone one, in the centre of the city.

During the same period, £1 will allow someone to park for one hour in zone two, and two hours in zone three.

On Monday to Saturday evenings, there will be a £1 flat fee to park in all zones between 6pm and 8pm.

On Sundays, £1 will allow parking for two hours in zone one, and in zones two and three there will be a flat £1 fee for all day.

On-street parking will be free from 8pm to 8am every day.
