Christmas Lights Switch On Nottingham 2012

On 21st November 2012 at 6:25pm, the Christmas Lights will be turned on in The Old Market Square, Smith Row and all of the City streets in Nottingham.

Marking the opening of the Nottingham Winter Wonderland, a special VIP guest will flick the switch starting the countdown to Christmas.

Whether you enjoy traditional festivities or you want thrills and exhilaration, you will be immersed into a full programme of family activities and events leading up to Christmas.

Kicking off the Christmas in true style, Nottingham is host to:

  • An impressive 40ft Christmas tree;
  • Children’s rides;
  • Mouth-watering festive food and drink
  • Craft and gift market;
  • Singing by Nottingham Music School;
  • Street Entertainers;
  • Authentic 2 storey Victorian Bar;
  • Fully animated singing snowman;
  • 60m high Star Flyer ride;
  • Festive makeover with snow;
  • Christmas market stalls.


Festivities will run from Wednesday 21 November 2012 until Sunday 6 January 2013!
