Hi Everyone. I'm Ian from La Creme Patisserie in Neath and this is my debut blog on the Best of Neath site. Its been a great week for us so far. Last weekend we started supplying desserts to La Parrilla on SA1. For those of you who don't know, La Parrilla is located in J Shed on the new SA1 development and its owned by the same family who own La Braseria in wine street. I don't know about you but every time I've been to "the Brass" I have never had a dessert probably because I've had too much red wine. Or maybe the desserts didn't appeal - but now all that is about to change. Sian has developed a menu of 5 desserts which is guaranteed to appeal to everyone. To see which 5 she has chosen follow this link to our blog site.

Today I have been up to London to take further samples of our products to the Great Taste Awards at Olympia. These samples will be photographed and displayed at the London Speciality & Fine Food Fair in September. We have also today taken an order for our coffee shop cakes from a coffee shop in Mumbles called Theo's which is the first time they have ordered. NPT council rang to order 400 pieces of patisserie for a function in mid july similar to those we supplied for the mayors inauguration and Margam Orangery have ordered 100 individual cheesecakes for a wedding this saturday. If you haven't seen it already take a look at this video showing La Creme's first delivery to the Orangery in april.

Tomorrow we have a meeting with the head chef at the St.Davids Hotel & Spa in Cardiff Bay to take in samples of our wedding / banqueting desserts. Our fame is spreading across South Wales.

As well as taking orders, Sian has been into Druffyn Comprehensive to give a talk to Year 10 children and she's written two food articles for the Evening Post Saturday food column and an article for the British Baker magazine.

Further orders for the rest of the week include a wedding cake, our saturday night takeway and a buffet for 50 on Saturday afternoon.

Me - I'm busy with our expansion plans. Anyone know where I can find a company that builds mezzanine floors, a company that supplies kitchen equipment and a good architect.

I know I'll try the Best of Neath!!!!
