A special thank you must go to Gwyn, Chris and their staff for making the 4th July BBQ with The Best of Neath a tremendous success. I telephoned Gwyn early on Friday just to make sure all the arrangemnets were in place and to let him know the numbers. Over 70 had emailed to say they were coming either with their partners, work colleagues or children. The weather wasn't looking good for the evening so Gwyn suggested we would have the BBQ inside.
Well it did rain but we had a great turn out and at Aberdulais Golf Driving Range they can accommodate us inside with no problems. Lots of the children played golf trying to hit balls into the target on the range. They were much better than Mike from Spring Creative Design and Sam Hawking who were still at it past 10pm in the pitch black with no idea what they were doing. Efanna Sams daughter who is probably no older than two was better!!!
The burgers and hot dogs were great and it was really nice to meet the partners and families of many of The Best of Members. Rhian from JCP and Partners said it was great to come out especially with the children to meet local businesses and their families in such a relaxed and social envirnoment.
I didn't really know what to expect, but those that came had a great time, ate good food and had a few glasses of wine or beer to help the conversation flow. I am always open to what we can do that is something slightly different to networking which includes more than just the director of the company.
Our next networking will now be on Wednesday 24th September (Nothing in August)at The Newly refurbished Blue Bell Hotel in Neath. It is going to be a fabulous venue so book it in your diary now.
