Shire Hall Monmouth is an absolutely stunning building. I have attended various business meetings and am always taken aback at the architecture and history. It is a fantastic venue for meetings and I have been lucky enough to use the interactive white board to run website training. I have also recommended Shire Hall for a unique wedding venue to a friend.
On a personal note I have taken a tour of the building to better understand it's history - Henry V, the Chartists and so much more.
Seriously this is a great building, take a visit to see why!

“I was at the launch, but didn’t get to speak to you. I have a copy of your book. I want to congratulate you on your work. The book is very impressive in all respects – very clear and easy to read and looks beautiful. Great work all round and it will be an asset to the Shire Hall and the visiting public for years to come.”

In October 2011, David Cummings – Chairman of Monmouth & District C said about Shire Hall Monmouth
“A decade of careful planning and fund raising by the dedicated team of Shire Hall stewards have provided us with a beautifully restored Georgian Public building complete with historic and cotemporary features required by the discerning public of Monmouth and fully equipped for the requirements of digital age in which we now live . The building forms the centrepiece of the top of town and is an essential resource to be used and hired for a multitude of purposes. A successful public building must be far more than the stone of which it is constructed. It requires a dedicated team of staff focused on clearly defined objectives and driven by a dynamic and resourceful manager. The town is indeed lucky that we have Mike Booth as Shire Hall Manager to steer the building’s course and usage over the next decade or two”.

I also wanted to say what an amazing day we both had, it was perfect and I could not imagine having held the wedding anywhere else. So many people have commented on what a unique and special venue the Shire Hall was and how much they loved the building. Everyone had a wonderful time! Thank you for everything you did to ensure the day ran smoothly and to accomodate all of our wishes, there is nothing we would have changed and we have a lifetime of incredible memories to look back on!

“I attended an event at The Shire Hall shortly after it re-opened and was astounded by the fusion of history and modern functionality. The quality of the refurbishment is first class and yet you can almost smell The Chartists trials in the courtroom. A truly fascinating building and well worth a visit. Highly recommended and very evocative of days long past”

“I just wanted to say a huge ‘Thank You’ for allowing us to hold our meetings in the Shire Hall today – I’m sure we were the last thing you need just at the moment! Your hospitality and welcome was second to none, our Partnership members were very impressed. Please could you also pass on our thanks to, Karin Molson, your Learning Manager who looked after us very well later on in the morning. We would like to wish you the very best over the next few months and look forward to seeing you again after September when you open officially!”
