On 21st June 2015, Hewitsons Solicitors are taking part in the 14th Milton Keynes Dragon Festival at Willen Lake, Milton Keynes.
This is the first time that Hewitsons have participated in this event and they are hoping that they do not sink!!!
The event is being held in aid of Age UK Milton Keynes and Hewitsons are currently working hard to try to raise much needed funds for this worthy cause.
Money raised at the 2015 Milton Keynes Dragon Boat Festival will help fund the charity’s Information, Advice and Advocacy services which provide free, independent, and confidential advice at seven locations around the borough of Milton Keynes. Age UK Milton Keynes need to raise £80,000 to fund this vital service.
The Dragon Boat Challenge also strongly aligns itself with Hewitsons’ long heritage of contributing to and fundraising for charities. Hewitsons Charitable Trust is the sole sponsor and organiser of the Chariots of Fire race in Cambridge, which has now raised over £1million for a variety of charities over the course of 23 years.
One of our team members, Samantha Hand, who represents Great Britain at American Football and has also won a silver medal in sparring at the Taekwondo English Open, says: “I am really looking forward to this event and delighted to be taking part, particularly for such a worthwhile cause which has an important role in the Milton Keynes. I hope I can utilise my team working skills honed on the American Football field onto the water!”
