While waiting in my fantastically comfortable stool at the Piano Bar in the lobby of the theatre I didn't know what to expect on stage. I had read about the show and looked forward to it but I was unsure how it would all link together. Well, I needn't of thought on it, I could sit back (or stand up and dance) and enjoy the excellent story line and some incredible voices.

I won't ruin the story for you but the acting was great and the very frequent sprinklings of British humor were top draw. Gregory Clarke, who plays Al the newspaper seller, delivers his lines perfectly with incredible timing, there are a few close to the mark one liners but nothing that crosses any lines and both myself, my partner and the rest of the audience loved him.

Gregory was great, but stealing the show was Aimie Atkinson who plays Penny. Her voice is unbelievable, I had goosebumps when she belted out her first solo. I don't know what I expected, I think it was because she is so small for such a big voice coupled with the fact she is the first female to sing, maybe the contrast in the tone played some part. She consistently delivers every song with a voice that is a class above, I would pay to see her sing alone. Not to take away from any of the other actors though, all played their parts flawlessly and had the crowd clapping along depending on the 60's hit of the moment.

If you have the chance to so and see this show then i'd definitely recommend it. It's a feel good sing-a-long and will keep a smile on your face for a good few hours. You will also be surprised at the end, I won't tell you what but don't expect to go straight to sleep after the show!

If you do go, please review the show here under the 'Reviews' tab.

By the way, we started in the Piano Bar, which I'd been told was good but it was a great place to gather in the pre-show atmosphere. I even saw Kevin Whatley star of ITV's hit show Lewis in there enjoying a drink with his family. I'd definitely recommend getting there 30/40 minutes early to relax and drink it in.

Have a good one!!
