Performances of 17th Century violin virtuoso Heinrich Biber, also pieces by late Glastonbury-based composer Stanley Messenger and a premiere of a new work by Jenny Bliss.

Amphion Consort will be performing a unique Concert as a response to the RE FORMATION exhibition. Performing Biber sonatas including the Crucifixion and Resurrection from his collection of Mystery Sonatas - in the latter sonata, the violin tuning is transformed by swapping over the middle 2 strings making the shape of a cross. In the words of Nigel Kennedy - 'Imaginative...Jenny has a n affinity for Biber'. They will also perform Stanley Messenger's 'October' in an arrangement for early instruments and voice, and will premiere a work by Jenny which uses the positions of the plantets and stars at the time of the concert encoded into musical notation, thereby creating a new music of the spheres.
