Really great to see the George back open and in such good hands. We stayed here for 3 nights and had a warm welcome, lovely room and great food all the way through. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble and even our old dog Gypsy was spoiled rotten as well. Can’t wait to come back!

Nice converted rooms in barn within pub garden
Comfortable beds, nice pub, pretty village, nice staff. Nice breakfast.
They got a few of our evening meals wrong and I was surprised they did not replace the meal or bring the right chips for the other meal. We were left scraping the sauce off the steak which we said we did not want but still charged for the whole meal. I appreciate times are hard but the steak should have been replaced or meal discounted. The bedrooms open directly onto the pub garden but if you like pub gardens and sociable with people in close proximity this won’t be a problem!

Visited with the hubby on Sunday and the place looks great. Food was amazing, best Sunday lunch that I've had for years,. Roast potatoes were OMG! Hosts were warm and welcoming. Will be returning soon for certain

What can we say! Our stay at The George was fantastic! We were made so welcome, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are lovely and spotlessly clean. We ate in the the restaurant both nights as the food is wonderful! Good varied menu and cooked beautifully. We are already planning another family reunion for next year and will definitely be booking into The George again.

Excellent breakfast and dinner
Windows to upstairs bedroom at floor level. Was a little claustrophobic for me but would still stay again. Ground floor bedrooms are roomier with normal windows

We have had a fantastic 3 course meal tonight - the food was absolutely delicious, great service, super friendly hosts and a lovely atmosphere. Can't wait to go back and try more of the menu!

This is a family run business and guests always get a warm welcome. On my most recent visit I had a salmon parcel starter followed by seabass. It was all really delicious. I loved the Cornish gin and the Expresso Martini (which I would definitely recommend). If you want something more informal it is great to sit out on the deck. There's a very friendly atmosphere and I have already booked our next meal out at The George.

First the eating here since the new owners took over. The food is excellent, both well cooked and well presented, and the pub itself doesn't try and be something it isn't which was the problem in the past. Your hosts are warm and attentive but not too pushy. Very happy to see so many people from outside the village in there on a Friday night and proud to call The George my village pub.

Had our first evening meal inside in the George since change in landlord. Neil and family have made this into a smart dining place. Interesting menu, excellent cooking and service. Very busy but service with a smile. If you’ve not been, give it a try and forget about any previous experiences at the George

Well-recommended!
The room was spacious, comfortable and in excellent order. It was good to have a decent sized television screen! Steph, Neil and the staff were very helpful, including changing us to a ground floor room when my difficulty with stairs was noticed. We enjoyed both the evening meal and breakfast, which were cooked to order. We look forward to staying there again if we ate visiting the area. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Just had the best night out at The George! Wednesday is steak night and our meal was perfect. Steak cooked exactly as we like it, onion rings and peppercorn sauce to die for. Washed down with a couple of glasses of Pinot, in a lovely atmosphere. What’s not to like? See you next Wednesday!

we came for the steak night on a weds and it was amazing the food was beautiful and the staff were friendly and approachable I Highley recommend coming here even just for a quite drink

Great service and lovely meal last night- the goats cheese and onion jam pizza was gorgeous and the chips the nicest I’ve had for ages!! We’ll definitely be making a return visit.

Me and 2 friends enjoyed a lovely early afternoon of drinks and nibbles in the courtyard the other day. We were really impressed with the gin menu and we thought the service was outstanding. We will be back soon!
