I waited for over half an hour for my turn because of the lack of staff during the hours I went there, which needs addressing. It would have been helpful to be given notice beforehand at the reception, at the very least. Nevertheless, I was pleased with the friendly assistance of Sachin in opening my bank account, whose explanations were clear and concise.

I have used this branch a number of times, and for personal banking the staff have generally been pretty good. However, I am giving three stars overall because the business banking service wait times are just way too long - I regularly have to wait over 30 minutes just to pay in a small amount of cash/cheques. It doesn't make sense that there is only one business banking window at this branch for the whole of Greater Manchester (population approximately 3 million), and that cashiers can't switch flexibly from personal banking (where wait times are much shorter) to business banking. No, HSBC, this just won't do.
