Manchester City Council are pulling out all the stops this year in celebration of St George's Day.

With something for everybody, below are details of the St George's Day Festival and Parade.

St. George's Day Parade

Although St George's Day is on Saturday the 23rd, the parade is taking place on Sunday the 24th April from 11.45 until 1.45pm.

For full details of the route see the map below.

Starting on Varley Street at 11:45 am, the parade winds it's way down Oldham St, through Piccadilly, back into the Northern Quarter and Ancoats, before ending up back at Varley St.

For a great vantage point in the City, the parade is predicted to reach Piccadilly at 12:30pm if you want a good vantage point.

Expect to see Mods, Samba Bands, Maidens and Knights of Old on the parade route.

The St. George's Day Street Festival runs from 11:30am 4pm, with street theatre and music performers and comedians. So if you don't feel like parading, Piccadilly Gardens is the spot for you as that's where it all happens.

The Post Parade Street Party kicks off at 1:30pm in the Adactus Car Park, just off Varley Street. There will be more performers on show alongside traditional home-comforts like tea, coffee and the great British Banger.
