A RARE opportunity to purchase a three-bedroom home in a leafy Manchester suburb for less than £180,000 could be grasped by first time buyers thanks to Redrow’s ‘Advantage’ initiative.

Providing a property ladder springboard, Advantage allows the buyer to purchase a property at Woodland View, in the sought-after suburb of Prestwich, for 80% of the market value.

The scheme is subject to conditions that include having a total household income of less than £50,000 and a specific need, such as moving to the area for a new job or a growing family, and the discount must be passed on to future buyers so that the price remains affordable for the lifetime of the property.

Woodland View,  just five miles from Manchester’s booming city centre, has two bedroom apartments and three and four-bedroom homes available under the Advantage scheme.

The three-bedroom Broadway home fits the bill for couples and young families. Hailing from Redrow’s Heritage Collection, with traditional Arts and Crafts inspired exterior features, this home boasts generous rooms to cater for busy modern lifestyles. The master bedroom incorporates an en-suite, while finishing touches such as a laundry space and cloakroom are practical additions.

What is more, for those qualifying for the Advantage initiative, this desirable home starts from £176,250.

Lesley Myers, sales manager for Redrow, said: “The Advantage scheme was established to provide opportunities for those struggling to get onto the property ladder and we are proud to be helping first-time buyers at Woodland View.

“Not only are our Advantage homes a great place to raise a family but they also provide sought-after opportunity to buy a high quality and spacious home in the fast-expanding city of Manchester at a more affordable price.”

Unlike other incentives, like Help to Buy, the discount doesn’t have to be paid back later – just passed on to a future buyer when the house is sold on.

“These homes must remain affordable,” adds Lesley, “and the Advantage discount is attached to the selected homes ‘in perpetuity’, so if the owner decides to sell and move, they must pass on the discount they obtained to the next buyer who must fulfil the required criteria too.”

The Broadway is not the only home available under Advantage at Woodland View. A two-bedroom apartment, with expansive living spaces, is currently on the market for eligible first-time buyers from £118,496 and an appealing four-bedroom Kenilworth can be bought from £213,750.

“For first-time buyers currently renting or possibly living with parents, struggling to get on the property ladder, we’d urge them to get in touch about our Advantage offer, which could provide the leg up needed,” added Lesley.
