The best weekend away ever

Over the years I have had more enjoyment from a short sharp break than two weeks lying on the beach. Barcelona for the chic walk down Los Ramblas, the nightlife in Paris (The Moulin Rouge is a must for sheer entertainment value) and Rome for its' elegance.

Montpelier, France is next on my list. Why? Well first of all access to this sensuous and elegant city is easier with flights from my local airport Birmingham but also Leeds, Bradford and  Manchester.

Start your few days away with a stroll through the pedestrian squares where you will find cosy restaurant and bars. Take a seat and just watch the world go by.......marvellous. The Musee Fabre has re-opened and features a collection of European Art. Shopping, now that is a thought! The new part of Montpelier includes top class shops and even more restaurants coupled with a few activities that you probably wouldn't dream of doing at home.

Busy few days this because now it is time for dinner. Join the locals for a modest meal in the old town and if you are there from late June to early July there is a classical music festival....some say extravaganza even.

My few days away inevitably mean I prefer to stay in a modest hotel and let Easytravel in Malvern do all the work. They will book the flights, arrange the hotel and then off you jolly well go. What a great team they are.

Enjoy...........I certainly will.
