As the Morgan Motor Company Centenary year draws to a close,  the Morgan community were thrilled to present a £50,000 cheque to the charity Children In Need.

The money was raised by raffling a Morgan 4/4 Sport donated by the company, which was drawn at 10.am on 20th November in the new visitors centre at the factory.   The lucky winner was a Mr.  Powell of Shropshire.

Tim Whitworth, Centenary Director said " we were delighted with the amount of money we were able to raise for this fantastic cause.   I am sure Mr.Powell will enjoy the car too.  It was one of the best phone-calls I have ever had to make!"

The car was first presented on January 2nd 2009, at the start of the Company's year long Centenary festivities.  It has travelled throughout the UK and Europe, raising money and profile for the charity,  having its bonnet signed along the way by notable celebrities.

Registered Y100 MMC, the 4/4 Sport also took part in the Lord Mayors Parade through London,  and has become a celebrity in its own right.

Children In Need day was celebrated at the Malvern factory in style, with many of the staff working in fancy dress.  The cheque was presented to Children In Need on the BBC regional lunchtime news by members of the Morgan Centenary Organising Committee.
