A few weeks ago I was watching the news and I saw a report about Jemma Pixie Hixon, a 20 year old singer in Worcestershire. I didn’t realise Jemma lives right here in Malvern until John from The Best of Malvern emailed me today and asked me to do a blog post on her story. There seems to be a lot of singing talent in this town of ours, Cher Lloyd from last year’s X Factor is from here too.
I was particularly interested in Jemma’s story, because apparently she’s been dealing with agoraphobia for a couple years now. Despite her condition though, she’s worked hard and developed her own youtube channel. I can understand her situation in a way, while I don’t suffer from severe agoraphobia myself, I write novels, which confines me to the house a lot of the time. It’s great to see Jemma’s singing has become an online success. Her talent has persevered against the odds.
