For at least a hundred years a great deal of thought has been given to ways of transporting visitors to the top of the Malvern Hills. In the 19th century donkeys were a popular way to enjoy the picturesque views without having to work too hard. A funicular railway has been considered and the latest suggestion is a cable car.
The proposal to build a cable car on the Malvern Hills has sparked great debate. On Thursday, 12th Feb the Conservators rejected the proposal 21-0. The Company behind the scheme says it will try to find a way around the objections.
Malvern For All is a social enterprise company that is supporting the bid for a cable car; it has now developed images to show what their scheme might look like. You can see the ideas put forward by Malvern For All on their website. Click here Malvern For All
