In two weeks time, Malvern Tourist information Centre will have a fabulous new scrolling display screen that will be on show to the 80,000 customers that pass through their door each year.
All local tourism related businesses are invited to showcase their business, event or attraction on the screen for a small advertising fee.
The system will display approximately 25 displays in sequence with each display being shown for 5 seconds during each sequence, i.e. once every c. 2mins.
Each display will therefore be shown approximately 200 times during each 7 hour day that the TIC is open 7 days per week.
About 15 of the displays will be general tourism related information relevant to the TIC with the other 10 displays being paid-for adverts that accord with the Malvern Hills District Council's advertising policy.
The payment to obtain a display on the system has been initially set at £40 inc. VAT for a 3 month period (periods to commence on 1 Feb, 1 May, 1 August and 1 October).
