Summer Survival for Parents
5th July 2011

Looking forward to spending the summer holidays with noisy hyperactive boys, or teenagers hunched over a computer screen all day? No, me neither!

So if you’re struggling to think of things to keep the little horrors busy during the school break, read on for information about some great events and activities taking place in and around Macclesfield.

Rugby Coaching Camps

Macclesfield Rugby Club is holding summer Rugby Coaching Camps for boys throughout August.

Covering an age range from Under 6 to 17 years, this is a perfect opportunity to get those lads out into the fresh air and expending some of that seemingly limitless energy. For details or to book, call 01625 827899.

Summer Drama Workshops

If you're looking for something a little less physical and feel you may have a budding Daniel Radcliffe or Emma Watson just waiting to be discovered, why not enrol them in the Stagecoach Theatre Art School Summer Workshops, taking place on the 1st to the 8th August and culminating in an end of course performance.

Let’s face it, if you're woken by the High School Musical soundtrack or spend your days in a constant state of Glee, you might as well channel their ambitions in the right direction.

There are two groups covering 4 - 6 yrs and 7 - 16 yrs and the school offers a discounted price for siblings. Contact the Stagecoach Theatre Art School on 01260 241017 for full details.

Wacky Woods

Finally Wacky Woods will be running sessions all through summer at Styperson Quarry Wood on Brookledge Lane in Adlington. Fun, adventure and education in an outdoor setting – I wish they had been around when my two were little!

If you want to see what Wacky Woods have on offer (and it’s a lot!) they are holding a Free Open Day on Wednesday 3rd August. Booking is essential for this event, so please call 01625 572944 or visit their website.

I guarantee you will be intrigued!
