Macclesfield Town Football Club is in mourning following the sudden death of midfielder Richard Butcher.
The popular 29 year old midfielder was found dead at his Manchester home on Monday morning.
Richard Butcher was held in very high regard by both fans and fellow players, and was said to be an excellent role model for the youth players.
The Northampton born player came to Macclesfield in the summer on a two year contract following a loan with the club last season.
This is the second tragedy for the club in the past year, following the loss of manager Keith Alexander 10 months ago, who collapsed and died within hours of leaving a match.
This Saturday's game scheduled at Burton Albion has been postponed, so the team's next match will be on 22nd January at home to Barnet.
