The Christmas Winterfest has been set up by a sub-committee of the Macclesfield Economic Forum, and aims to help promote Macclesfield town centre and local shops, businesses and restaurants in the run up to Christmas 2011.

More than 30 events will be taking place in various venues in the town, with a whole host of musical treats, ranging from Opera to Elvis, Burlesque to The Beatles. The Heritage Centre plays host to legendary 80's group The Christians, while all are invited to 'The Big Sing' carols for all at Macclesfield Football Club.

Comedy nights provided by Laugh out Louder will have you doing just that, and the youngsters are not forgotten at the UndeRave club for 15 – 17 year olds, featuring the best in Dub Step and lit using Ultra Violet.

A traditional carousel in the Market Place, the Treacle Market Festive Special and outdoor ice rink at St Michaels church all promise to bring a touch of magic to the town centre.

Plus if you're making an evening out of it, some of Macclesfields' best restaurants are offering special deals for those attending Winterfest.

Macclesfield is really pushing the boat out with this series of events, so come along and support your local town and businesses, have a great time and share some unique experiences right here on your doorstep.
