Macclesfield FC manager Gary Simpson has revealed the club have been busy scouting for new players and extending current players contracts ahead of the start of next season.
Hoping to snap up some bargains within the free agent market, Simpson commented on the clubs website: “"As we get closer to July those players without a club will be under pressure to get themselves sorted and it becomes more of a buyer’s market."
Simpson, who guided the Silkmen to League Two safety last season has also recently recruited the services of Burton Albion’s well respected chief scout Glyn Chamberlain, who announced plans to leave the club for Macclesfield last month.
Chamberlain has been part of Burton Albion’s back room team since the start of the 2010, but jumped at the chance to return to management as number two alongside Simpson at Macclesfield.
