Guido Rizzo, Chef at highly popular local italian restaurant, Briscola of Macclesfield, was pipped to the post yesterday in the Craft Guild of Chefs Awards 2010. Known within the industry as the 'culinary Oscars'.
Guido, who made it through to the shortlist for Young Chef of the Year in the prestigous awards, was narrowly beaten by another young chef from The Ritz in London.
The ceremony, which took place at the Lancaster Hotel in London yesterday, drew key figures from the culinary world to our capital to recognise the talent and ingenuity of Chefs within the UK.
Guido, who will now return to his post at Briscola, made it through to the finalists with an outstanding combination of culinary flair and expert detail.
We wish him all the best from everyone here at The Best of Macclesfield and have no doubt he will take the title next year!
