Surely the February half term has got to be the most difficult. With absolutely no chance of decent weather and bank balances still in recovery from Christmas, is there any alternative to just praying for good TV scheduling to keep the children occupied? Well fortunately, yes there is.

Macclesfield Leisure Centre has a range of half term activities planned that won't break the bank and will keep your sanity intact over the coming school break.

How about a three day multi-sports course including football, mini tennis, badminton, basketball, dodgeball and other activities. The courses are for 7 to 16 year olds, all equipment is supplied and you can book individual days if required.

Or there are trampolining and gymnastics courses for ages 6 and upwards, either a three or two day course.

On the 14th and 16th February, there are rollerblading sessions with the Rollers Club. Skates can be hired and children under 8 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

The pool will also be hosting Water Walker (Hamster balls!) sessions, inflatable fun swims and a water polo course run over two days.

So amongst that little lot alone there should be something to occupy your youngsters, booking is on a first come first served basis so don't leave it too late!

If you visit the Macclesfield Leisure Centre website, you can find more details on the above, plus a whole host of other activities and facilities right on your doorstep.
