Classic opera with a modern edge from Macclesfield’s Silk Opera

Ignite your inner passion with a trip to the opera on Friday 15th April at the United Reformed Church in Macclesfield.

 

A treat for the eyes and ears, the story is that of powerful lovers and dark witchcraft, with warriors and Royalty thrown in for good measure. The opera features around the main characters Dido and Aeneas, two lovers destined to fall in love yet be ripped drastically apart.

 

The music score is by Purcell, the characters are depicted by a stella cast and the story is directed by some of the best in the business.

 

The host, Silk Opera, is a professional opera company who's aim is to bring audiences young, old and from various operatic experiences to the genre, in a variety of different venues, and Dido and Aeneas are no exception.

 

The opera begins at 8.00pm, and will be taking place at United Reformed Church, Park Green, Macclesfield SK11 7NA.

 

Tickets are available from Waterstone’s, Mill Street, Janhill Estates Ltd, and Waters Green House, price at £15.00 each (£10 students and under 18's)
