Marie Curie Cancer Care is one of the largest charities in the UK and has cared for over 200 patients in Macclesfield, Cheshire and North Staffordshire in the past year alone. Lend your support, get involved in our fundraising events and help our Nurses provide the care and support our patients deserve.
Marie Curie Cancer Care aims to provide high quality nursing, totally free, to give terminally ill people the choice of dying at home supported by their families.
Established in 1948 - the same year as the NHS - Marie Curie Cancer Care mainly cares for people with cancer; however, our Nurses also provide support for patients with other life limiting illnesses.
Although a national charity, our fundraising is very much locally based and all the money raised in Cheshire and North Staffordshire is put straight back into the Marie Curie nursing service for that area.
We currently have around 16 Marie Curie Nurses caring for patients in the Cheshire area. Over 200 patients were cared for by Marie Curie nurses in this area last year.
However, in order for this care and support to continue, we need the help of the community. From fundraising to voluntary work, why not get involved and make a real difference to people with cancer and their families in your area?
There lots of ways for people to get involved in fundraising; please visit The Best of Macclesfield'sevents pageto find out more.
We firmly believe that our events should be more than just fundraising opportunities; they should be fun, inspiring, challenging and sociable.
Current and past fundraising events include:
Overseas Challenges - trek, cycle or horse-ride through some of the world's most challenging destinations
UK Mountain Challenges
Local Walks and Runs
Local Sport and Dancing Events
