Building Design Wales are excited to announce the nomination of their owner and Director Tammy Wilford as a finalist in the Saira Khan Business Woman of the Year 2015, organised by local networking organisation Free2Network.
‘Making it to the final is ridiculous’ says Tammy ‘When I was made redundant and decided to follow my dream and become an architectural designer I could never have envisaged being nominated as a Business Woman of the Year – probably a better category is Business Man of the Year as I’m so often working alongside an all-males team!’
A change of direction is never easy and Tammy moved from the world of hospitality with the aim of turning her passion into a business and after only a few years, making the final is recognition from colleagues and customers of the success she has made of Building Design Wales.
Tammy is an example to any young person wanting to change direction and follow their passion. Having finished first in her degree class in her final year, it is her hard work, determination and the talent to only deliver the highest of standards on which Building Design Wales is built.
‘I would urge anyone to really take a look at their working life and where they want to be’ says Tammy ‘It’s not always an easy road to follow a dream but the reward when you get there is enormous’.
The team are delighted that Free2Network has recognised this remarkable young woman and the amount that she has achieved in such a short while. The next few weeks will be anxious times while we wait to see if following dream will take Tammy all the way to first place.
