Last Saturday Waterstones held a book launch for local author Fred Hurr’s debut novel entitled ‘Light of the Wicked’. He was at the store all day greeting customers and signing copies of the book. Two very important guests were the Llandudno Mayor Ann Yates and her consort Neville Yates. The Mayor received a signed copy of the book from Fred Hurr. As the story is set in Llandudno Ann Yates said she was looking forward very much to reading ‘Light of the Wicked’.
The book became a best seller on the day outselling all other authors who have done signings at the bookstore. The story is a supernatural tale of angels and demons fighting for control of the seaside town. Although the book was only published in August this year it is now selling on four continents including the USA.
Waterstones manager Derek Orford said this was the best author signing they have ever had. Customers were entertained throughout the day by Robert Shrigley-Foulkes who played acoustic guitar and sang a mixture of his own songs and some popular covers.
